‘Two Pages is a series of sketchbooks for graphic designers and illustrators. A designer is chosen to start the sketchbook and then we follow its progress. The purpose of the project is to build a chain of creative people. In each sketchbook the designers respond to a different theme and decide who the next contributor will be’. (Konstantinos Trichas, 2012)
I was invited to contribute to this project by creating a spread in response to the theme ‘Where is home?’. In my view, such a question is very deep and emotional and carries lots of different dimensions to it. Therefore, I decided to leave the spread blank and to only attach an objet trouvé; a post-it note that my mother had sent me from Greece along with some other stuff by post.
I suppose, ‘home’ and ‘love’ have been in constant interaction. Home is, and will always be, where our love is. Love of our family, of our childhood, of our youth. Love of a past, present and future; all at the same time.
